Macadamia Nuts

Macadamia nuts from the hilly terrain of Rwanda, where it’s challenging for machinery to operate, are harvested by hand-picking. Farmers carefully collect each ripe fruit that naturally falls from the trees to the ground. The stable climate, with average monthly temperatures around 20°C, nurtures a globally rare environment conducive to year-round macadamia nut harvesting. Please savor the naturally sweet flavor and the fresh texture straight from the orchard to your table.

DRY ROAST, SALTED

DRY ROAST, SALTED

We carefully bake them in the oven without using oil, and the seasoning consists of only a small amount of salt to enhance the natural sweetness of the macadamia nuts. They have a crisp texture and are characterized by the rich, creamy sweetness of Rwandan macadamia nuts.

HONEY CRUNCH

HONEY CRUNCH

We envelop roasted macadamia nuts in Rwandan honey, infusing them with the warmth of ginger and cinnamon spices. The richness of the nuts harmonizes perfectly with the gentle sweetness of honey and the spices. It’s a delightful blend that allows you to fully experience the essence of Rwanda’s nature.

“The Secret of Deliciousness”
Just like fruits and
vegetables, macadamia
nuts also undergo a
process of “ripening.”

Over the course of eight months from pollination to fruition, sugars in the nuts transform into high-quality oils, signifying ripeness. Roasting immature nuts can compromise their appeal by allowing sugars to act, resulting in a loss of the characteristic “crisp texture” and an increase in bitterness, while the “sweetness and richness” are diminished.

Through meticulous harvesting guidance at the farm and careful grading by skilled employees, we deliver fully ripe macadamia nuts to you! Macadamia’s main components include oleic and palmitoleic acids, unsaturated fatty acids also found in olive oil and fish. They boast health benefits such as lowering bad cholesterol, strengthening blood vessels to prevent hypertension and stroke, and promoting skin health to prevent skin problems.

MACADAMIA NUTS
CHOCOLATE

We are proud to announce that our macadamia nuts have been chosen by the renowned bean-to-bar chocolate shop, Dandelion Chocolate, for their “Macadamia Nut Chocolate.” Dandelion Chocolate is known for their meticulous attention to detail in crafting single-origin chocolates, from sourcing the beans to controlling roasting temperatures, blending times, and sugar ratios to bring out the full potential of cocoa’s flavor.

They visited our macadamia farm in Rwanda to ensure the quality and flavor of the nuts met their exacting standards. The “Macadamia Nut Chocolate” features chocolate made with 70% cocoa beans from Honduras. By using Rwandan macadamia nuts, which offer a distinct flavor profile from those familiar to Japanese consumers, such as those from Australia or Hawaii, Dandelion Chocolate has developed a recipe to maximize the unique taste of Rwandan macadamia nuts.

This chocolate offers a one-of-a-kind experience, allowing you to taste both Central and South America and East Africa simultaneously. You can find Dandelion Chocolate’s Macadamia Nut Chocolate at their physical stores and official online shop.
